The Joey Philosophy
PROGRAMS
The human brain has the greatest plasticity from birth through age six to accommodate a wide range of experiences, interactions, and environments. Thus, nurturing emerging social, emotional, cognitive, and language skills are critically important.
We, at Joey, are HUGE proponents of play being at the center of our curriculum. We believe that early childhood is not only a critical time for learning, but also a time for laughter, play and great fun! We encourage all types of play within the learning environment – dramatic, constructive, creative, physical, and cooperative play. We facilitate child-led activities and nudge them towards developing early foundational skills like critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for making them future ready!
Toddlers (1.5-3 yrs)
Our young learners in the toddlers program thrive in nurturing environments where teachers stimulate their developing minds with educational toys and exciting physical and mental activities.
Pre-K (3-4 yrs)
Our pre-kindergartners are at an age where they develop a strong sense of curiosity about their world, and teachers encourage that curiosity as they facilitate immersive educational experiences. Learning through play is emphasized. The children participate in hands-on activities that impart basic concepts of literacy and numeracy.
K1 (4-5 yrs)
Our K1 program has a STEAM focused curriculum. Students learn how to work in a collaborative environment while continuing to build on their communication, social and problem-solving skills.
K2 (5-6 yrs)
Our K2 program builds on skills developed in the K1 program and puts our little graduates on the path of school-readiness. The program has activities designed to impart skills like independent reading, writing, numeracy and reasoning.

We have a rolling admissions process. The following table outlines steps in the admissions process:

Campus tours can only be scheduled from Monday – Friday between 9AM-11:30AM. No other time slots will be entertained. Get all your questions answered in person.

Bring your child along for the campus tour – we’d love for them to experience our campus.

Offer of admission will be extended based on seat availability with a validity of one week.

Complete admission formalities and pay prescribed fees as per policy

Camp Joey 360
Summer Camp
Camp Joey 360, our summer program, will be announced every January. Applications will open up soon after. Spots fill up real fast, so please fill out the online registration form as soon as we publish it.

Sindhu Satish
“No role in my life has pushed me harder, asked more of me, or given back more than motherhood. So when it comes to Joey, I run it like a mom - I don't know any other way to run it!”
After more than a decade of corporate experience in the U.S., Sindhu decided to follow her dream, her passion – Early Childhood Education. She holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from UCLA, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Simon Fraser University, a Masters Degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Bangalore University.

Satish Thyagarajan
Satish brings broad-ranging interests and diverse work experience to Joey. His interest in early childhood education grew from understanding how a child’s formative environment can shape life’s trajectory.
His mission is to make Joey a fun and safe place where children gain confidence to explore, experiment, discover, learn and set forth on their optimal trajectory for success in life.

Program Director
Carla Cole
Carla Cole brings over 30 years of global experience in early childhood education, with a deep specialisation in play-based learning methodologies. Her career has been defined by a steadfast belief that children learn best when they are free to explore, create, and discover in a nurturing and stimulating environment. At Joey Academy, Carla works closely with Sindhu to shape every dimension of the academic program - from designing the curriculum and learning frameworks to mentoring and training the learning facilitators.

Center Head
Shilpa Mandya
Shilpa has spent close to two decades in early childhood education, across schools in Bangalore and a volunteer stint working with families in the UK. She started out as an engineer, found her way to early childhood education, and never looked back.
At Joey Academy, Shilpa leads the team, oversees admissions and shapes individual learning experiences.
